Rivermark Partners Donate $180,000 for Affordable Housing

(San Jose, CA: February 16, 2005) The Housing Trust of Santa Clara County announced today that Rivermark Partners, a partnership of three regional homebuilders (Centex Homes, Shea Homes and Lennar Communities) has presented the Trust with a check for $180,000.

The donation marks further fulfillment of a $400,000 pledge made by Rivermark Partners in 2001, during the planning phase of the Rivermark community in Santa Clara, CA. For each home sold in the community, Rivermark Partners has earmarked $200 from the profits at the time of closing as a donation to the Trust. Next week’s donation of $180,000 represents sales of homes in 2003-2004; previously, Rivermark Partners had donated $23,200 for homes sold in 2001.

The Rivermark Partners’ donation will add to the more than $25 million already collected by the Housing Trust of Santa Clara County from local public and private investors. Since they began distributing funds in 2001, the Trust has loaned or granted more than $17.6 million to create affordable housing opportunities for more than 4,435 families in Santa Clara County.
