Yesenia and her three young children found refuge from domestic violence at HomeSafe Santa Clara. A Safety Net Capital Improvement (SNCI) grant from the Housing Trust's Homelessness Prevention program provided HomeSafe funds to update apartments and common areas used by families like Yesenia's. These and a myriad of other personal stories make up the fabric of programs offered by the Housing Trust of Santa Clara County.
Before moving into her new apartment at the FairOaks complex in Sunnyvale, Julie lived in several transitional housing situations which were less than ideal for her delicate physical and mental health. She was overjoyed to be accepted for a brand new senior rental apartment in the FairOaks complex, developed by Mid-Pen Housing Corporation. The Housing Trust of Santa Clara County was able to commit Developer Loan funds to this project at a critical juncture, enabling the start of construction.
Eddie and Leisa dreamed of finding a single family home for their growing family -- but felt it was financially out of reach. A Mortgage Assistance Program (MAP) loan from the Housing Trust allowed them to purchase a home they can grow into.
Soad Grayeb was an empty nester, renting an apartment near her daughter's high school and driving cross-town to work. When her daughter moved out, Soad was able to use a Purchase Assistance Loan (PAL) from the Housing Trust to become a homeowner and move near her work. Fixing up her new condo, she is now helping to stabilise her new neighborhood and has decreased her carbon footprint!
